Since my birthday has just passed, I thought it would be a wonderful idea to show you a bit about myself and what music means to me.
Music has always been in my life. I have memories of being very young and having my siblings show me piano songs and taking piano lessons from one of our neighbours. My sisters took music lessons a little bit at that time and I have very musical great grandparents. I was always creative. I actually loved drawing and had hopes of being an artist or cartoonist. Eventually, the older I got, and the more I thought about what I wanted to be when I grew up - I realized that music was always there and the emotional connection that I had with playing was stronger. "Through tough times - deaths, puberty, rejection, and loneliness - music was the only thing that could make me feel better." There is always a sense of accomplishment when you learn a song, or create something yourself. I was lucky to find a calling and an idea of the type of person that I wanted to be when I grew up; at such a young age. Through tough times - deaths, puberty, rejection, and loneliness - music was the only thing that could make me feel better. I was bit with an obsession for music and it still seethes strong to this day. Almost all of the magnificent people that I have met, the places that I've gone, and, the motivation that keeps me going is because of music. I understand that not every musician has to have this great of focus, but if you love something, why not let it nearly consume you and allow yourself to see how far you can go? You have to always be realistic and constantly learning, but dreaming and being passionate is very important too. So, I write this because I would like to help anyone looking for inspiration. I may have an obsession, but whatever you do, as long as it makes you happy - keep doing it. You don't have to change everything in an instant. Natural talent is not the most significant advantage if you do not practice, and commit. Even a small time out of your day just a few days a week can make big improvements on your goals. Just remember to have goals, and push yourself out of those comfort zones. Hobbies and creative outlets may seem to not be as important when it comes to your health - compared to eating right and exercising - but it does help a great deal for your self-worth, happiness, and well-being. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope this helps you in whatever way(s) you need it to. Originally posted June 18, 2017 on previous website.
